Bringing a Preprint to Life: Work in Progress Wednesday Update
Hey everyone!
I’ve been working on a few projects like the fibulae for Baroness Kathleen and the basket I bought. But something new jumped to the front of the line at the last Lonely Tower Scriptorium—a preprint. I’ll need it done in time for this Saturday’s Calontir event! I’m heading to the Barony of Mag Mor’s annual Cattle Raids, and this piece is coming with me.
Here’s a quick look at what the preprint looked like when I first brought it home:

And here’s where I’m at now:

It’s taken a little while for me to figure out where all the colors go. I decided to tackle the people and animals first, saving the foliate for last. It’s actually made things easier! For the vines, I’m balancing the red and blue areas so I can use the smaller sections for purple and green. Highlights will be the finishing touch, spread across the colors. I do have a boo-boo to fix. Oh! And, I might even add a bit more gold once I’m done.
The best part? Between Work in Progress Wednesday and the Scriptorium, I’m really feeling my painting mojo coming back, even with the challenge of peripheral neuropathy.
Cattle Raids, here I come!
