A Hidden Gem: Brunch Box’s Gluten-Free Menu in Oakview Mall

This morning found me making my way around Oakview Mall, getting my steps in. I was doing my final lap when Linda, one of my Tai Chi friends, appeared from around a corner. Linda had rolled out of bed late and just started her walk. We decided to meet in the food court at Brunch Box, after she finished. That wouldn’t take long. That girl is fast.

I wanted to see the new restaurant not only because it was new, but because it served coffee. And coffee is the best way I know to get people talking more than those at the Cheers ‘ bar.

I headed there to wait for her intendng to only enjoy a fresh cup of coffee. I wasn’t expecting anything more exciting to take place.

What I didn’t expect to discover was a whole gluten-free menu. Yes! Their whole menu. Every item, gluten free.

So, I went to my chosen table to wait. I barely sat down and something else new happened. Brunch Box’s cheerful delivery robot appeared at my table. The PuduBot was “dressed” with a bright Brunch Box T-shirt. The robot looked like a cross between a helper and a team mascot. Honestly, the robot made me smile. This friendly robot told me it was “glad I came”.

So, if you’re in Omaha, stop by Brunch Box at Oakview Mall. I’ll probably be there already. If you’re from somewhere else, I suggest that your hometown café borrow a few ideas from Brunch Box.
