Courts, Kudos, and Culinary Delights: Inside Our Unforgettable Revel Experience

Hey there, SCAdians and fellow adventurers of the Barony of the Lonely Tower!

Let me tear you away to just ten days ago when my beloved SCA group threw one heck of a Revel! And of course, our gracious Baron and Baroness, Charles, and Kathleen, lead the charge.

When I showed up, I saw eight eager members huddled around tables laden with a treasure trove of SCA goodies, all up for grabs! Yep, FREE stuff generously donated by fellow members. And let me tell you, I was floored when Lady Fleur practically beelined towards me, presenting me with not one, but two coils of round basket-making reed. Lady Fleur, if you’re reading this, consider me forever grateful! Those reeds are already earmarked for a special project.

But wait, there’s more! Our dynamic duo, Baron Charles and Baroness Kathleen, took center stage to confer some well-deserved recognition. They put the spotlight directly on Lady Tanneke for her unparalleled sewing craftiness—cue the applause! And HL Gervase, aka the master of pouches, didn’t miss a beat either, showering up with a bounty of pouches fit for royalty. Seriously, our kingdom is in for another treat!

Once the court wrapped up, it was food time! We grabbed our trusty feast gear and dove into a smorgasbord of potluck delights lovingly prepared by other members. (I don’t cook.) Let’s just say, my taste buds were in for a treat.

But the fun didn’t stop there, oh no! Post-meal, the games began with a spirited game of SCA-style Cards Against Humanity lighting up the common area. And behind closed doors rested the HL Cristina la Ambeler. She welcomed all who wanted to talk with her, the imminent recipient of the prestigious Order of the Pelican—an honorable display that by this writing took part clear across Calontir in the Barony of Three Rivers.

And so, my friends, I hope your February Sunday was also filled to the brim with festivity, friendship, and, of course, fabulous food. Until next time, may your adventures be as engaging and fun as our Lonely Tower Revels!
