Crafts, Comrades, and Clothiers: My Anticipated Weekend in Calontir

Hey there, lovely readers!

Guess what? I’m bubbling over with excitement for the upcoming Calontir Clothiers event on January 27th! And here’s a little secret: my excitement isn’t because of my sewing skills (let’s be real, they’re pretty basic), but because I’ll finally get to meet THL Nest Ffynnon in person! She’s not just any acquaintance – she’s my basketry mentor and someone I’ve been looking forward to meeting after we met online.

Meeting up with friends.

You might remember how this all started. It was pretty simple, really. I popped a question in our Kingdom of Calontir Facebook group, asking who in the kingdom knew a thing or two about basketry. And guess what? Nest’s name came up not once, but a few times! So, I did what any curious soul would do – I friended her on Facebook. And now, the moment I’ve been waiting for is almost here.

Here’s the plan: Nest, who hails from the southern part of Missouri, and my fantastic apprentice THL Astrid, are all going to camp at the same motel for the event. I’m literally counting down the days!

There’s just so much happening in my life right now. Later today, I’m taking a basket class at Omaha’s botanical gardens, and next weekend, the Clothiers event will happen. Two awesome activities, making my life feel like a super fun staycation!

But this isn’t just about basketry and sewing. It’s also about the joy of reconnecting with my wonderful family of Calontir friends. Whether we’ve shared laughs, A&S tips, or just a friendly chat, I’m looking forward to catching up with each one of you. I hope nothing gets in the way (it was iffy for a while), and I can see you all very soon for what promises to be another unforgettable gathering!

So, stay tuned, dear readers. I can’t wait to share the stories, pictures, and experiences from this event with you. It’s going to be epic!
