Writing Adventures to Cherish This Holiday

✍️ A Writer in 2025: Wherever Inspiration Lands

As a writer in 2025—with the internet, Bluetooth, and a stubborn determination to keep creating—I write in bits and pieces. I write here, there and anywhere the words decide to show up. Some days it’s at home on my couch, with Inka curled loyally at my side like a small furry editor. My schedule depends entirely on where I happen to be and, at home, on whether Luna decides to allow me. There are moments when she insists—truly insists—that I put the laptop aside and pet her right now. Any attempt at writing is met with a head-butted veto.

When I’m out of the house, my writing world expands to a rotating collection of fast-casual restaurants, coffee shops and winerys. I sip something warm and find a corner table. Then, I tap away on my cellphone using the app version of my writing tools. At home, I work on my laptop with my ever-present hydration-enhanced water beside me like a tiny fountain of encouragement.

Like many modern writers, I use ChatGPT as my brainstorming partner. It is my word-choice whisperer, idea-bouncer, and sounding board. It is the extra cup of coffee that never gets cold. Together, all these little pieces of place and technology shape my writing life: flexible, wandering, cozy, and wonderfully mine.

As my writing life has grown, so have my interests. Adding Qigong to the mix has gently pushed me to explore everything around me—from the food court where I take my mall walks to the little merchants who pop up with bright new flavors and even brighter personalities. It’s the same curiosity that led me to write about the quinceañera dresses at the mall, simply because they were suddenly within reach and too beautiful to ignore. My blog shifts because I do. That’s the heart of being itinerant: I wander, I notice, I learn, I follow the threads of delight and fascination wherever they lead. A wandering mind is a terrible thing to waste—and mine is off on new adventures every day.

A warm and inviting dinner table set with a bottle of Beaujolais Nouveau wine, multiple glasses filled with red wine, a freshly roasted chicken, colorful salads, and a variety of bread, all surrounded by soft, ambient lighting.

Wishing you a season filled with peace, joy, and cherished moments with the people who matter most to you.

May your days be wrapped in love, your nights filled with laughter, and your heart be light as you welcome your holidays.

Best wishes to you—and to those you love to write about!
