Anticipation Builds: Calontir Lilies War Highlights and Must-Do’s
Hey everyone!
Can you believe it? Calontir Lilies War is less than a week away, and I can hardly contain my excitement! This year is going to be epic, and I’ve got a list of must-do activities that’s already pretty long—and that’s before I’ve even peeked at the official schedule. There’s so much to look forward to, especially the thrilling fighting tournaments and the grand Kingdom Courts.

Classes
The Royal University of Calontir (RUSH) offers a fantastic range of classes on medieval arts and sciences. There are different topics each day in four different tents. I usually take two or three each day. Whether you’re a seasoned artisan or a curious newbie, there’s something for everyone.
The Fyrdraca
One of the highlights of Lilies War is undoubtedly the Fyrdraca, a stunning replica of a Viking-era boat. It’s docked near the battlefield and beach, offering rides throughout the event. There’s no need to stress about timing; just listen for the horn. Two long blasts mean it’s time to hop on for an excursion. Plus, there are classes to teach you the basics of the boat’s operation. Since I can’t row or bail I hope they’ll let me aboard.
Pilgrimage for Our Lady of Calontir
I am determined to join Countess Conna ingen Ui Chearbhaill in the Pilgrimage for Our Lady of Calontir. It starts at the Food Court and ends near the Broken Harp. On the trek, pilgrims sing the Cantiga 159 (Miracle of the Dancing Pork Chop). Conna provides music and practice in a RUSH class, so check the schedule for details. All singers, musicians, and pilgrims are welcome. (Children must be accompanied by parents.)

Bardic Encampment
If you love to sing like I do, the Bardic Encampment is the place to be. Calontir is famous for its singing, and there’s an entire camp dedicated to bardic activities. Evenings are filled with spontaneous singing sessions, so don’t worry if you don’t know the words—just join in and sing loudly!
The Broken Harp Tavern
Not sure where to head in the evening? The Broken Harp is your go-to spot! With a wide variety of drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) available by bottle or cash donation. It’s a popular hangout. You’ll often find a crowd gathered, and before long, the singing begins.
Fireworks
Friday night is always spectacular with one of the best fireworks displays around. It’s a tradition honoring Wulfgar Skypainter who began it decades ago. It’s such a big deal that even the locals gather in their boats on the lake to watch. You definitely won’t want to miss it.
I can’t wait to be there. And I hope you come and share in the fun, learning, and camaraderie. At this event, it’s particularly true that a stranger is just a friend I haven’t yet met.
