Celebrating Women’s History Month: Untold Stories
Hey, everyone! Can you believe March is just around the corner? Winter’s almost behind us, but March brings more than just the promise of warmer days—it’s Women’s History Month! It is a time to celebrate the incredible contributions women have made throughout history, in the arts and sciences.
For me, it’s a time I like to reflect on the past. I think about the hardships women have faced over the centuries. I also look to the future. A future women must wholeheartedly invest in or be ignored again.
So, this year, I’m excited to dive into stories of pre-17th century women who left their mark on the world. These were women from all cultures. Women who excelled in their crafts and shaped their societies. Some whose names were lost to history.
Women like the mystic Marguerite Porete, who defied the Church’s authority and held steadfast to her beliefs. She became a bold symbol of resistance and faith. And Heian-era Japan (794–1185), Murasaki Shikibu. She was a lady-in-waiting at the height of the Imperial court.
Stay tuned as I share their fascinating stories. Perhaps your family history includes bold, bright women, too. Women are capable of great things. Please tell us their great stories. We truly want to know them.
