I didn’t plan to forgo 12th Night. I had handmade gifts for my Lonely Tower friends – lotion bars, lip balm, and chocolate dipped candy canes for their winter coffees. I had the Arts and Sciences competition things prepared and ready to go. Looking forward to my favorite winter holiday. Sadly a serious out of town family emergency arose. A […]
April Fools’ Day is a legend according to Snopes. It began in the 1500s when the Julian calendar changed to the Gregorian. Those who forgot the change and celebrated New Year’s Day as usual, then on April 1st, were teased as “April fools.” That’s a little like being picked on when you forget the time change after we monkey with […]
Christmas Eve. A joyous night in the year. I’m fortunate my grandkids want this Grandma to stay overnight with them, to wake up and watch them open their presents. There is no greater joy than seeing their dreams come true on Christmas. They won’t always be so eager for my sleep over with them, but for now I will enjoy it and be grateful. I hope you can share your holiday with people you love. And may you all be blessed with joy. Related Prior Post: More Merry Christmas December, 2015
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day. A time my family and I give thanks for our blessings and enjoy great food. Especially food grown and harvested ourselves. Remove cooked by HL Nikolai While I didn’t grow anything edible several in the family did. Tomatoes and pumpkins for sure. I’m thankful to celebrate and share their family harvest festival. I’m also thankful for […]
This is the time of the year I usually go to Calontir’s Kris Kinder event. What’s not to love? So much holiday spirit and shopping to enjoy. Nan receiving her degree. This year I celebrated something more exciting and important. Something in the works for three years. Yesterday, my daughter graduated as a Nurse Anesthetist. It has been a long haul […]
I was on the road again. This time, reconnecting with my family living near Minneapolis. I seem to be doing this a lot lately, so check out my other reconnections here and here. My brother Gene was 84 years old Tuesday. The reason for my visit. I wanted to hang out with him. He walks three miles every day at […]

Back from the family holiday. What a wonderful time! Family and friends coming in and going out. Those present changing in rotation. Thankfully road crews had done an excellent job removing the surprise 7 inches snow from the streets. While many food items simmered and slow cooked, giving the atmosphere a cozy feel, we played a new-to-me game, Cards Against Humanity. A party […]
